Notes on use, material properties and handling of AdBlue® | |||
| Remove | ||
1 | Remove fender liner. | ||
2 | Remove drain hose (10) from the tank filler recess (1). | ||
3 | Remove fuel filler flap. | ||
4 | Remove check strap (2) from tank flap hinge. | ||
5.1 | Remove rubber plugs (arrows). | If installed tank filling recess (1) has already been removed previously. | |
5.2 | Drill out recesses of the rubber plugs (arrows) with a 3 mm drill bit. | If installed tank filling recess (1) is being removed for the first time. | |
6 | Unscrew AdBlue® cap (3) from filler neck. | Model 257 | |
7 | Unclip catch hooks (5) and remove fuel filler cap central locking system actuator (M14/10) from the tank filler recess (1). | ||
8 | Disconnect electrical connector from the fuel filler cap central locking system actuator (M14/10). | ||
9 | Release catch hooks (7) in succession with a suitable screwdriver (6) through the bores (arrows) and, while doing so, pull the tank filler recess (1) out of the body opening. | ||
10 | Pull seal (11) over the fuel filler cap. | Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 l | |
11 | Pull seal (11) over the AdBlue® filling tube (13). | Model 257 | |

12 | Remove tank filler recess (1). | ||
13 | Screw AdBlue® cap (3) onto the filler neck. | Model 257 | |

14 | Unscrew AdBlue® cap (3) from filler neck. | Model 257 | |
15 | Install rubber plugs (arrows) in the tank filler recess (1). | If reusing tank filling recess (1). | |

17 | Pull seal (11) over the AdBlue® filling tube (13). | Model 257 | |

18 | Press tank filler recess (1) into the body opening until all catch hooks (7) are clipped in. | ||
19 | Connect electrical connector to the fuel filler cap central locking system actuator (M14/10). | ||
20 | Insert fuel filler cap central locking system actuator (M14/10) into the tank filler recess (1) and clip in catch hooks (5). | ||
21 | Screw AdBlue® cap (3) onto the filler neck. | Model 257 | |
22 | Attach check strap (2) to the tank flap hinge. | ||
23 | Install fuel filler flap. | ||
24 | Guide seal (11) over the connection fitting of the drain hose (10). | ||
25 | Install drain hose (10) on the connection fitting. | ||
26 | Install fender liner in the right rear fender. |
