Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove/install

Drain coolant

Model 639 with engine 112, 272, 642, 646, 651
with code H12 (Auxiliary hot-water heater)

Remove fuel line (1) from STH heater unit (A6)

 Collect escaping fuel.

Close off the fuel line (1) with the stop plugs

 Record plug

Loosen clamps on coolant hoses (2)

Remove coolant hoses (2) from STH heater unit (A6)

 Collect coolant which flows out.

Unscrew bolt (3)

 Bracket to floor assembly

Loosen bolts (4); do not remove completely

 Secure STH heater unit (A6) to prevent it from falling down.

Disconnect electrical connections (5)

Disconnect electrical connector on STH fuel metering pump (M46/1)

Remove STH heater unit (A6) together with the bracket

11

Install in the reverse order



Check

12

Perform test run of STH heater unit (A6) and check fuel system on STH heater unit (A6) for leaktightness
