Remove/install

Switch off ignition

Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Unscrew coolant drain plug from the radiator and drain coolant

Collect coolant

Open front flap, slacken hose clamp (1) and detach coolant feed hose (2)

Remove dashboard

Disconnect heater housing connector (5) at switch unit for heater/ventilation (6)

Unscrew bolt (7) at air duct in right footwell (8) and detach air duct from heater housing

Unscrew bolt (9) at air duct in left footwell (10) and detach air duct from heater housing

Pull out air duct in left footwell until heater housing is exposed.

Unscrew bolts (11) on heater housing (12) and remove heater housing

Do not damage cables when removing from heater housing.

Install in the reverse order

Inspect heater and ventilation for proper operation
