Completely open Vario roof with Vario roof switch and put roll bar in upright position with roll bar switch

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m)

Lower roll bar mechanically

Move Vario roof to load assist position by hand and secure

Remove spare tire cover

Remove damper from RVC hydraulic unit (A7/5)

Release and disconnect electrical connections (1, 2, 4) from RVC hydraulic unit (A7/5)

Unscrew nuts (3)

Remove RVC hydraulic unit (A7/5) and lay down in suitable vessel

Disconnect all hydraulic lines from RVC hydraulic unit (A7/5)

Lay RVC hydraulic unit (A7/5) in suitable reservoir in trunk

Clean RVC hydraulic unit (A7/5)

Take RVC hydraulic unit (A7/5) out of reservoir and install

Tighten nut (3) slightly by hand

Connect electrical connections (1, 2, 4) to RVC hydraulic unit (A7/5)

Remove supports and move Vario roof into normal position

Close trunk lid

Switch on ignition, put roll bar in upright position with roll bar switch, and close Vario roof completely with Vario roof switch



Check fluid level of RVC hydraulic unit (A7/5), correct if necessary
