Remove/install

Remove NOx sensor upstream of the exhaust gas aftertreatment unit (12).

 Do not remove NOx sensor.

Remove hoses (1).

 Installation: Observe markings of the lines (2) relative to the hoses (1).
Check clamps (3) for damage.

 Record plug

replace affected clamps (3).

Remove clamp(4).

 Remove screw (5) to do this.

 Installation: Replace clip (4).

Remove temperature sensors from the exhaust gas aftertreatment unit (12).

 Do not remove temperature sensors and sensor unit.

Remove bracket (6) from the exhaust gas aftertreatment unit (12).

 To do so, remove nuts (7).

 Nut, holder securing elastomer bearing for exhaust gas aftertreatment unit to exhaust gas aftertreatment unit

Remove metering valve from the exhaust gas aftertreatment unit (12).

 To do this, disconnect injection line from the metering valve and remove metering valve from the exhaust gas aftertreatment unit.

Remove bracket (8) from the exhaust gas aftertreatment unit (12).

 For this purpose, remove nut (9).

Remove rear muffler from the exhaust gas aftertreatment unit (12).

Remove the rear engine support.

Remove crossmember (10) from the longitudinal member under the platform.

 To do this, remove screw/bolts (11).

 Aid of helper required.

Remove exhaust gas aftertreatment unit (12).

 Proceed by first removing the screw/bolts (14). Aid of helper required.

 Screw, elastomer bearing for exhaust gas aftertreatment unit to longitudinal member

Remove elastomer bearing (13) from the exhaust gas aftertreatment unit (12).

If a new exhaust gas aftertreatment unit (12) or elastomer bearing (13) is installed.

Install in the reverse order.



Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
