Remove

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).

Remove rear bottom engine compartment lining.

Remove left and right underfloor paneling.

Remove front cross strut (1).

Remove rear cross strut (8).

Remove pressure hoses (4) from gasoline particulate filter (5) and place to one side.

Remove temperature sensor upstream of gasoline particulate filter (B163/4), place to one side and seal opening with suitable stop plug.


Do not crush or kink or subject line to tension.
Damage and function impairments will otherwise occur.

Support exhaust system in area upstream of separating point (x1).



Release clamp at separating point (x1).

If a clamp is present.

Perform repair cut on separating point (x1).

If no clamp is present.

Detach exhaust system at suspension ring (7).

Remove clamp (6).

Unscrew nuts (3).

Lower gasoline particulate filter (5) slightly and remove.



Remove pressure lines at gasoline particulate filter (5).

When replacing gasoline particulate filter (5).



Install

Attach pressure lines to gasoline particulate filter (5).

When replacing gasoline particulate filter (5).

 Union nut, differential pressure line to gasoline particulate filter

Remove combustion and corrosion residues at separating point (x1).

Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray

Clean sealing surface at front connecting point.

Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray

Check front elastomer bearing (2) for damage.

If there are problems,



replace front elastomer bearing (2).

Check suspension ring (7) for damage.

replace suspension ring (7).

Attach clamp for separating point (x1).

 Replace clamp.

Mount clamp (6).

 Replace clamp (6).

Lift gasoline particulate filter (5), position front elastomer bearing (2) on axle carrier, support gasoline particulate filter (5) and secure against falling down.



Align exhaust system so that free of tension.

 Ensure a center alignment of clamp at separating point (x1).

Tighten clamp (6).
