Remove/install

Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of lifting platform and position four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Release clamp (9c)

Disconnect connector for left O2 sensor upstream of the catalytic converter (G3/3x1) or connector for right O2 sensor upstream of the catalytic converter (G3/4x1) and expose electrical lines

Disconnect connector for left O2 sensor downstream of the catalytic converter (G3/5x1) or connector for right O2 sensor downstream of the catalytic converter (G3/6x1) and expose electrical lines

Remove catalytic convertor bracket (1) at catalytic convertor left (157/2) and catalytic convertor right (157/1)



Remove catalytic convertor left (157/2) and catalytic convertor right (157/1) from exhaust manifold

 Installation: Check rivet nuts in exhaust manifold, replace if required:

Replace rivet nuts in exhaust manifold.

Remove left O2 sensor upstream of the catalytic converter (G3/3) and O2 sensor downstream of the catalytic converter (G3/5) or right O2 sensor upstream of the catalytic converter (G3/4) and O2 sensor downstream of the catalytic converter (G3/6)

When replacing left catalytic convertor (157/2) and right catalytic convertor (157/1).

 Installation: Coat thread with heat-resistant lubricant.



Install in the reverse order

Check installation position and clearance of exhaust system

 The exhaust system must be mounted free of tension, align exhaust system if necessary.

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
