Raise vehicle

Loosen hose clamp (9c) and detach the rear muffler (9a) on the left from the center muffler (10)

Unscrew nuts for rear muffler reinforcement (11/7) and remove bracket (11/8)

Disconnect left flange connection (12a) and right flange connection (12b) for center muffler (10) at catalytic converter (158/1) and catalytic converter (158/2)

Remove right bracket for the exhaust rubber mount (9/2)

Model 211.076/ 077/ 276/ 277.

Detach center muffler (10) with right rear muffler (9b) from exhaust rubber mount (9/1)

Model 211.076/ 077/ 276/ 277.

To simplify removal:

Apply liquid lubricant to the retaining brackets and onto the holes for the exhaust rubber mounts.

Detach center muffler (10) with right rear muffler (9b) from exhaust rubber mount (9/1) and exhaust rubber mount (9/2)

To simplify removal:

Apply liquid lubricant to the retaining brackets and onto the holes for the exhaust rubber mounts.

Remove the center muffler (10) with the right rear muffler (9b)

Check

Check exhaust rubber mount (9/1), exhaust rubber mount (9/2), left sealing ring (21a) and right sealing ring (21b)

Check for wear, replace if required:

Install right rear muffler (9b) with center muffler (10) in the exhaust rubber mount (9/1)

Loosely bolt together left flange connection (12a) and right flange connection (12b) for center muffler (10) at catalytic converter (158/1) and catalytic converter (158/2)

Loosely bolt together left rear muffler (9a) using hose clamp (9c) at center muffler (10)

Loosely bolt together left rear muffler (9a) and right rear muffler (9b) with bracket (11/8) and nut for rear muffler reinforcement (11/7)

13

Align center muffler (10) with right rear muffler (9b) and tighten flange connections

First tighten left flange connection (12a).

Inspect installation position and clearance of exhaust system

The exhaust system must be installed free of stress, if necessary:

Align exhaust system.

Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near engine

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.
