	Removing
1	Jack up vehicle	 Secure vehicle against rolling away
2	Take off appropriate wheel at front axle		AR40.10-D-1100A
3	Remove bellows		AR46.40-D-9998A
4	Inspect rack (2) and axial joint of inner track rod for corrosion and play	 If the rack is already corroded and the steering has a leak as a result, it is then necessary to replace the complete rack-and-pinion steering:
		Remove/install rack-and-pinion steering	AR46.20-D-0500A
5	Counterhold rack (2) with open-end wrench (arrow)
6	Take off inner track rod with axial joint (1); use 41 mm open-end wrench attachment (01) for this step	 Do not apply any torque to the rack joint otherwise the edges of the tooth of the rack will be damaged and the steering will then have to be replaced
		 Open-end wrench	*763589000100
		 Torque wrench	*001589672100
	Install
7	Install inner track rod together with axial joint (1); use open-end wrench attachment 41 mm (01) for this step	 Do not apply any torque to the rack joint otherwise the edges of the tooth of the rack will be damaged and the steering will then have to be replaced
8	Counterhold rack (2) with open-end wrench (arrow)

9	Install new boot		AR46.40-D-9998A
10	Fit on wheel at front axle	 Retighten wheels after 50 km.	AR40.10-D-1100A
