Remove

Remove rear-axle shaft (37)

Pry radial shaft sealing ring (32a) out of rear axle differential (50) using a suitable tool


Do not damage the seat of the radial shaft sealing ring (32a) in the rear axle differential (50).
Otherwise leaks may occur.



Clean

Clean seat surface of radial shaft sealing ring (32a) in rear axle differential (50)

Assembly cleaner

Check

Check seat surface of radial shaft sealing ring (32a) in rear axle differential (50) for damage and replace rear axle differential (50) if necessary



Install

Press new radial shaft sealing ring (32a) into rear axle differential (50)



Universal hypoid gear oils (specification 235.7)

BB00.40-P-0235-07A


Do not apply any oil to the seat surface and outer circumference of the radial shaft sealing ring (32a).
Otherwise leaks may occur.

 Apply a small amount of universal hypoid gear oil to the inner sealing lip of the radial shaft sealing ring (32a).
