Remove

Detach propeller shaft from drive flange (2).

Release collar nut (1).

The locking tabs of the collar nut (1) must be completely sheared off.
Otherwise remnants of the locking tab can damage the thread of the drive shaft when the collar nut (1) is removed.

Remove collar nut (1).

Detach drive flange (2).

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (3) from threaded ring (4).



Check

Check threaded ring (4) for tight seating.

If threaded ring (4) can be turned by hand,



replace threaded ring (4) and axle through drive cap.

Check threaded ring (4) for leaktightness.

If thread of threaded ring (4) is not leaktight,



seal thread of threaded ring (4).

Check drive flange (2) for galling.

If galling of radial shaft sealing ring (3) is visible on contact surface on drive flange (2),



Install new drive flange (2) with new dust-protection ring.

Install new radial shaft sealing ring (3) in threaded ring (4).

Install drive flange (2).

 Apply a thin coating of oil to drive flange (2) at contact surface of radial shaft sealing ring (3).

Mount new collar nut (1).

 Collar nut, drive flange to drive pinion

Secure the collar nut (1).

Attach propeller shaft to drive flange (2).
