Remove rear axle shaft (37a)

 Because a repair is only possible on certain rear axle shafts (37a), the availability of a repair kit should be checked in the EPC beforehand!

Clamp rear axle shaft (37a) using protective jaws in vise

Detach hose clamps (37k)

Detach cup seal (37i) from inner joint ring (37c) or outer joint ring (37b)

Dismantle constant-velocity joint

Press off joint hub (37d) from rear axle shaft (37a)



Staking tool for securing joint hub on rear halfshaft

Remove boot (37l) of opposite constant velocity joint

If necessary

 Boot (37l) can be pulled off over the rear axle shaft (37a).



Check

Check constant velocity joints for wear

If outer constant velocity joint is defective:



Replace rear axle shaft (37a).

Install in the reverse order

 Rear axle shaft, plugged in shafts
