Remove rear axle shaft (17)

 Pull out transfer coupling (18) and rear halfshaft (17).

Bend up locking plate (14)

Unscrew outer slotted nut (15)

 Claw-type wrench

Remove locking plate (14)

Unscrew inner slotted nut (13)

 Claw-type wrench

Remove pressure plate (12)

Remove wheel hub (9)

 Ensure that the wheel bearings do not fall out of the wheel hub (9).



Check

Check condition of wheel bearings and radial sealing ring

 In the event of wear or damage, replace wheel bearing:



Remove/install wheel bearing

Check thrust ring (4) and replace if necessary

Check oil thrower (3) and replace if necessary



Install

Fit on wheel hub (9)

 Grease wheel bearing (9) thoroughly before installing.

MB multipurpose grease, 5 kg

Install pressure plate (12)

Check and adjust wheel bearing play
