Remove the set-screw (19) from the brake drum (20)

 Installation: Replace safety screw (19).

 Safety screw, brake drum to wheel hub

Detach brake drum (20)

Adjust automatic brake adjuster.

 The parking brake must be disengaged completely. Should it prove impossible to pull off the brake drum on the initial attempt, turn back the automatic adjuster to remove the pressure from the brake shoes:

Undo the set-screw (21) in the transfer coupling (18)

 Installation: Install a new safety screw (21).

 Safety screw, driver to wheel hub

Pull out transfer coupling (18) and rear halfshaft (17)

 Lubricant may tend to emerge from the rear differential casing if the vehicle is tilted. As a precaution, place a suitable container beneath the final-drive unit.

 Installation: Replace O-ring (16) on drive plate (18).

Install in the reverse order
