Important information and preliminary measures

1

Positioning and arrangement of the tensioning bars in the vehicle

In the drive shaft the fixed tensioning bar (2) is installed on the right side of the vehicle and the adjustable tensioning bar (1) goes on the left side, unlike the 3rd auxiliary axle, which is installed with the fixed tensioning bar (2) on the left-hand side, and the adjustable tensioning bar (1) is installed on the right-hand side.
The left-hand and right-hand sides of the vehicle are determined to be the same sides of a person sitting in the driver's seat, in the driving position.

Danger !

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove

2

If necessary, remove the wheels

AR40.10-B-1100D

3

Unscrew the self-locking nuts (7), remove the flat washers (8) and the screws (6), and remove the tensioning bars (1) and (2) from both sides

4

If necessary to disassemble the adjustable tensioning bar (1), unscrew the nut (15), remove the locking bolt (14) and unfasten the terminals (12) from the central rod (16)

Check

5

Check the tensioning bar for damages and wear

Replace the tensioning bars when they present:

signs of out-of-round lodgings, corrosion and wear.

6

Replace the bushings (11) if the tensioning bar is not replaced

Install

7

Mount the tensioning bar (1) by totally screwing the threaded terminal (12) to the center rod (16), insert the screws (14), slightly tighten the nuts (15) until touching, without locking the terminal threads, and adjust the tensioning bar length according to the dimension “A”.

8

Install the fixed strut (2) on the brackets, insert the screws (6) of the joints, install the flat washers (8) and tighten the self-locking nuts (7)

On the drive axle, the tensioning bar (2) is installed on the right-hand side of the vehicle and, on the 3rd auxiliary axle, on the left-hand side.

9

Install the adjustable tensioning bar (1) on the brackets, insert the screws (6) of the joints, install the flat washers (8) and tighten the self-locking nuts (7)

On the drive axle, the adjustable strut (1) is installed on the left-hand side of the vehicle and, on the 3rd auxiliary axle, on the right-hand side.

11

Check the alignment of the drive axle using an appropriate device

Before aligning the rear axles, we recommend to check and, if necessary, adjust the steering geometry.

First, adjust the alignment of the drive axle, then the alignment of the auxiliary 3rd shaft.

Adjust the drive axle alignment

12

Unscrew the nuts (15) from the screws (14) and, using a fixed wrench into the slot (13) of the central rod (16) of the adjustable tensioning bar (1), turn the central rod (16) until you get the correct alignment indicated by the aligning device

When adjusting the rear axle's alignment, the central rod (6) of the adjustable tensioning bar (1) must be turned slightly beyond the setting point, and then, turned back to the correct adjustment point
This will cause the relieving of the tension exercised by the tensioning bar on the bushings.

13

Repeating the same adjustment procedures, check and adjust the alignment of the auxiliary 3rd axle

14

After aligning the rear drive axle and the 3rd auxiliary axle, tighten the self-locking nuts (15) at the terminals of the tensioning bars (1) up to the specified tightening torque
