1 | Remove through-drive cover and drive shaft | ||
2 | Remove ring gear with differential | ||
3 | Remove through-drive pinion housing (3) from axle housing (5) | Use soft hammer. | |
4 | Remove shims (4) | ||

5 | Install through-drive pinion housing (3) | Coat sealing surfaces of through-drive pinion housing (3), of axle housing (5) and shim(s) (4) with sealant. Place shims on the through-drive pinion housing so that the oil duct remains free. Before connecting the housing parts insert two new bolts (6) for fastening the center drive to the axle housing of the axle housing. | |

6 | Determine installed dimension "A" of drive pinion | Measure the installed dimension "A" with a depth gauge from the center of the tapered roller bearing support on the axle housing to the end face of the drive pinion and compare with the basic dimension engraved on the drive pinion and crown wheel. | |
7 | Compensate for difference between installed dimension and basic dimension | By adding or taking away shims (4) between the through-drive pinion housing (3) and axle housing (5). | |
8 | Install crown wheel with differential | ||
9 | Install through-drive cover complete with drive shaft |
