Remove

1

Loosen the front axle wheel nuts (65)

 Jack up the front axle using a trolley jack (76) and support on chassis using tripod stands (67).

Remove front wheels

 Fit two wheel nuts diagonally opposite to hold the brake drum with front hub.

Remove brake chamber air hose connections

Remove the front shock absorber (94) mounting bolt and nut from the spring seat

Remove split pin of the drag link ball joint from steering arm

Remove the drag link ball joint (83) nut from the steering arm

Remove the drag link ball joint (83) from the steering arm using special tool puller (116)

 Support the drag link suitably.

Detach anti roll bar bearing cap (117) from spring seat (80)

 Fold the antiroll bar away from front axle.

Position the trolley jack (76) at the center of the front axle

 Lift slightly to load the suspension.

Remove front spring U-clamps (118) on both sides

 Remove the spring clamping plate (119) with rubber buffer by removing the nuts.

Lower the jack with front axle and remove the spring seat (80) on both sides

Remove the dowel pin (81) between spring seat and axle beam, if required use suitable plier

Pull out the front axle from the vehicle along with jack and mount it on special tool front axle work stand (27)

 Secure the axle using mounting bolts.

Install

Remove front axle along with steering knuckle and tie-rod from the special tool front axle work stand (27)

 Place under the vehicle and lift it using trolley jack.

 Ensure the steering wheel is in centralised.

Install the dowel pin (81) of spring seat on front axle

 Ensure the spring seat and dowel pin hole is clean without any foreign particle and dowel pin is seated properly.

Place spring seats (80) in position on the front axle

Jack up the front axle and position under the spring with the dowel pins in the front axle

 The front axle are engaged with spring seat and spring seat properly with leaf spring.

Install the spring clamping plate (119), rubber buffer and U bolts (118) over the leaf spring and tighten the U-clamp nuts

 Similarly install the U clamps on the other side.

Attach anti roll bar (117) to the spring seat (80) and tighten the antiroll bar both bearing caps

Install the drag link (93) and steering arm (28) and tighten the ball joint nuts

 Match the nut slots to ball joint split pin hole and install the split pin and expand the pin using suitable plier.

Install front shock absorber (94) to spring seat and tighten the bolt and nut

Install the brake chamber air hose connections

Install front wheel

Remove the tripod stand and jack

If max cut bolt is removed from the steering knuckle, it will affect the turning angle of the vehicle

Inspect the steering wheel for straight ahead position

Check the wheel alignment if required and road test the vehicle
