Chock the rear wheels and apply the parking brake

 Danger

Risk of death from lowering vehicle when working between wheels and body. Risk of injury from pinching or crushing when working on the air suspension.

Testing and repair work between the wheel and wheel arch or in the wheel well should only be performed if the vehicle is secured using suitable support fixtures to prevent it from lowering.
Adjustment operations should only be performed from underneath the vehicle.
Use only suitable support fixtures to secure the vehicle frame or vehicle axles in order to prevent them from lowering.
If necessary, additionally use suitable support fixtures in order to prevent other moving vehicle parts that are in the working area from lowering, or use suitable retaining devices to prevent these parts from moving suddenly and without warning.
Secure areas with moving vehicle parts against unauthorized access.

Lift the vehicle from the front axle and support it on appropriate trestles, placed under the frame, behind the front spring brackets, so that the wheels are free

 Do not lift the vehicle by supporting the jack on the center of the front axle beam.

 Greater care to lift the vehicle will have to be observed on a laden vehicle.

Remove the front wheels

 After traveling the first 50 to 100 km, retighten the wheel lock nuts.

Loosen the connector screws (11) and remove the brake pads wear indicator (12) connector on both sides

Disconnect the brake hose (8) on both sides

Remove the steering bar (2) from the steering arm (3)

Support the axle using the EE-023 device, loosen the stabilizer fastening nuts (10) and remove the "U" clamps (7)

 Installation: Check the thread from the leaf spring mounting clamps and, if necessary, apply a sealant to the thread.
Retighten the spring leaf clips on the next vehicle maintenance service.

Lower the front axle (1), wash it, clean it and put it on a mounting bracket

 EE-020 front axle mounting bracket.

 Installation: Lubricate the screw guide of the leaf springs and the hole on the support face on the axle beam.
Make sure that the guide screw of the leaf spring is properly seated on the positioning hole on the support face on the axle beam.

Release the connecting bar from the connecting arms

Install in reverse order

 After installing the front axle, check and adjust the steering angle and wheel alignment.
