Inspecting, setting

Danger!

Danger to life from lowering vehicle when working between wheels and body. Risk of injury by trapping or crushing when working on air suspension system.

Do not work between wheel and wheel well or in wheel box.

Only carry out check and adjustment operations from underneath the vehicle.

Secure areas with moving vehicle parts against unauthorized access.

AS32.22-Z-0001-01A

The suspension level is checked and adjusted with unloaded vehicle. The wheels must be in the straight-ahead position. Setting the suspension level must always be carried out on both axles, starting with the front axle.

1

Measure the suspension level of the front axle

The suspension level is the dimension between the spring bellows carriers.

2

Adjust front axle suspension level

To do so release the mounting bolt for the linkage (25) on the bracket (26),

Adjust the suspension level by operating the air suspension valve (24) by way of the linkage (25),

Correct the length of the linkage (25) and fasten the linkage (25) in the bracket's (26) elongated hole (for operating lever neutral on the air suspension valve (24)).

3

Measure the suspension level of the rear axle

The suspension level is the dimension between the spring bellows carriers.

4

Adjust the rear axle suspension level

Work sequence identical to operation step 2.

5

Recheck the suspension level of the front and rear axles

Repeat the adjustment if necessary.
