Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove/install

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).

Drain off coolant.

 Installation: Install lower engine cover only after leak test.

Remove air filter unit.

Unclip electrical wiring harness from transmission oil cooling module (1).

Release and remove coolant hose (4) from cooler.

Unscrew bolts (3).

Remove transmission oil cooling module (1) from automatic transmission with coolant hoses (2, 4) remaining and collect escaping transmission oil with a suitable container.

Remove coolant hose (2) from transmission oil cooling module (1).

 Hose clamp pliers

Remove transmission oil cooling module (1) and seal openings with suitable means.

 Installation: Ensure that guide lug (5) is correctly seated.

 Installation: Replace seal.

Remove coolant hose (4) from transmission oil cooling module (1).

If the transmission oil cooling module (1) is replaced.

Unscrew oil filter cover (6) and remove oil filter element.

If the transmission oil cooling module (1) is replaced.

Install in the reverse order.



Check

Check transmission oil level, and correct if necessary.

Check cooling system for leaks.
