Remove/install

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).

Remove control unit cover (1).

Unclip air intake pipe (2) at radiator crossmember (arrows A).

Remove air intake pipe (2) at air filter housing (4) (arrow B).

Release ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) and place to one side with connected lines.

Do not crush or kink or subject lines to tension.
This would lead to damage to the lines and can impair their function.

Release engine air intake duct downstream of air filter (3) at air filter housing (4).

Release air filter housing (4) upwards, arrow (C), from attachment rubber (5) at bottom.

Installation: Wet attachment rubber (5) with lubricant.

Remove air filter housing (4) forwards, arrow (D), from rubber guides (6) at rear.

Installation: Wet rubber guides (6) with lubricant.

Remove screws (7) from air filter housing upper section (4a).

If air filter housing (4) is replaced.

Disconnect air filter housing upper section (4a) from air filter housing lower section (4b).

If air filter housing (4) is replaced.

Remove air filter element (8) from air filter housing lower section (4b).

If air filter housing (4) is replaced.

Check rubber guides (6) and attachment rubber (5) for wear and damage, replace if necessary.

13

Install in the reverse order.
