Detach torque converter housing (2) from transmission housing (1)

 Make sure that the K1 multiplate clutch (8) does not fall out.

 Installation: Check intermediate panel (6) on torque converter housing (2); replace if necessary. Do not coat intermediate panel (6) with sealant.

Remove bolts (5) from oil pump (4)

Screw two opposing threaded pins (a) into oil pump (4)

 The bolts (5) can also be used instead of the threaded pins (a).

Apply light knocks to press oil pump (4) out of torque converter housing (2)

 Installation: Replace radial shaft sealing ring (10) and oil pump sealing ring (arrow).

Check oil pump (4) for wear and damage

If wear or damage is present:



Disassemble/assemble oil pump

Check sealing rings (7) of B1 multidisk brake (9); replace if necessary

Install in the reverse order

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
