Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Drain off coolant

Detach vent line (5) from engine radiator

Unclip coolant lines from fan unit (2) if necessary

Release and disconnect electrical connection (4) on fan unit (2)

Unclip electrical line on left side from fan unit (2)

Release and disconnect electrical connection for radiator shutters actuator motor if necessary

Remove radiator shutters actuator motor on fan unit (2)

with code M005 (4MATIC)

Unclip electrical line for radiator shutters actuator motor from fan unit (2)

Engine 642 in model 222
with code M005 (4MATIC)

Unclip A/T oil cooler at fan unit (2) and place with attached oil cooling lines and coolant hoses to one side

Unscrew cap on coolant expansion reservoir

Remove screw/bolt of upper coolant return line at fan unit (2)

Push clamps on the left and right on fan unit (2) to the rear

Remove fan unit (2) upwards

Install in the reverse order



Check

Pour in coolant and ventilate engine cooling system
