Remove front engine cover (3) and engine air intake ducts (2) upstream of air filter

Model 212 with engine 156, 272, 273, 642
Model 218 with engine 642


Do not tilt front engine cover (3), but lift it off vertically towards the top.
The holding lug could break off otherwise.

Remove screw/bolt for automatic transmission oil lines to fan unit (10)

Unclip coolant line of oil cooler for A/T at fan unit (10)

Press unlocking fishplates (14) apart in direction of the arrows and unclip lower air duct segment (13) on the left and right from the fan unit (10)

Detach electrical connection (9) and unclip electrical wiring harness from fan unit (10)

Detach vacuum hose (5) from radiator shutters adjuster (4)

Disconnect electrical connection (6)

Unclip air duct segment (8) from fan unit (10)

Remove coolant hose (7) from fan unit bracket (10)

Close off vacuum line (11) from vacuum pump (M56), unhook at vacuum reservoir (12) (arrow) and place to one side

Unhook fan unit (10) from radiator mount and pull out upwards

Install in the reverse order
