Open the engine compartment hood

Warning

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Open the expansion tank's access cap

Access for maintenance and repair work execution vary according to the body type/manufacturer.

Drain the coolant

Collect the coolant in a suitable container.

Unfasten the coolant hoses (1, 2, 3 )

Check the hose and the clamp for damages and replace them if necessary.

Remove the tank's fastening bolts (4) from the support

In types 384.3 loose the fastening belt nut

Remove the equalizing tank (5)

7

Install in the reverse order of the steps
