Danger! | Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. | |

1 | Drain coolant | ||
2 | Remove front grille | ||
3 | Remove plate under front grille | ||
4 | Remove front bumper | Disconnect connector on outside temperature sensor, on the left on bumper. | |
5 | Remove refrigerant line (2) on radiator unit (1) | Only with AC system in front end, code H03 | |
Do not disconnect refrigerant line (2). | |||
6 | Detach connections at the air filter housing | ||
7 | Remove charge air hoses (4) from charge air cooler (3). | ||
8 | Detach coolant hose (5) on connection piece | ||
9 | Detach coolant hose (6) to coolant pump | ||
10 | Detach coolant hose (7) on distributor | ||
11 | Detach coolant hose (9) at radiator (8) | ||
12 | Remove engine hood catch (12) on front-end center piece (13) | Pull out rope pull for engine hood release from front-end center piece (13). | |
13 | Unscrew bolts (11) and nuts (10) at front end center section (13). | ||
14 | Remove cooler unit (1) | Installation: Align radiator unit (1). | |
15 | Install in the reverse order | ||
16 | Check gaps on engine hood; adjust if necessary | ||
17 | Inspect cooling system for leaks |
