Remove coolant thermostat (1)

Suspend coolant thermostat (1) from a wire in a vessel filled with water

Heat water with a suitable source of heat, stir the water, so that the temperature of water is the same throughout

 Never use a welding torch or a soldering torch to heat the coolant thermostat (1); otherwise the coolant thermostat (1) will be damaged.

Measure temperature of water

 The heating-up rate should be not more than 1 to 2°C / minute from about 8°C below start of opening of the coolant thermostat (1).

Pay attention to standard or tropical version of coolant thermostat (1).

Heater water to the full opening temperature of the main valve (1/1), measure stroke

 Main valve (1/1) must be fully opened after 6 to 8 minutes.
If the specifications are not achieved:


