 Warning

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove

Release cap (1) of the coolant expansion reservoir (2) so that overpressure can be completely relieved.

Remove cap (1).

Check coolant level and correct.



Attach tester cap (3) to the coolant expansion reservoir (2) and connect pressure pump (4) to the tester cap (3).

Check

Apply a test pressure to the engine cooling system for 2 minutes.


Do not exceed the specified test pressure.
Otherwise the engine cooling system will be damaged.

 There must not be any pressure loss within 2 min.

Check condition of all coolant carrying component parts and connections and check for leak tightness.

In the event of pressure loss.

If problems exist,



Replace corresponding components.



Install

Release the test pressure via the valve on the pressure pump (4), disconnect the pressure pump (4) from the tester cap (3) and remove the tester cap (3).

Check coolant level and correct.


