 Warning

Risk of injury caused by body parts being pinched or crushed as cab is tilted

Ensure that no one is within the tilting range of the cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt the cab all the way to the end position and secure it with the safety strut.

 The engine oil flows out of the oil filter housing (4) back to the oil pan.

 Do not remove charge air pipes (1, 2).

Disconnect the electrical connection on the oil pressure and oil temperature combination sensor (B110).

 Only for engine 926.9 up to engine end no. 301561.

Loosen the alternator (G2) on the alternator carrier (6) and swivel to one side.

Remove oil filter cover (4.1)

 Installation: Check oil filter element (4.2) for damage and contamination; replace oil filter element (4.2) if necessary.

Remove the oil pressure and oil temperature combination sensor (B110) from the oil filter housing (4).

 Only for engine 926.9 up to engine end no. 301561 and with leak or when the oil filter housing is replaced (4).

Install in the reverse order

Check engine oil level at display; correct if necessary

Notes on engine oil

 Observe engine oil grade set in maintenance system or Specifications for Operating Fluids.

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Start engine and allow to run in idle for 10 s until the oil pressure has built up, then run the engine at varying speeds

Turn off engine and check area of oil filter housing (4) for leaktightness

 Visual inspection.
