Removing

Remove oil pump

Measure

Measure axial play of driven oil pump gear (2) and driving oil pump gear (3)

Remove cover (1)

 Do not damage the sealing surface.

Measure gear backlash of driven oil pump gear (2) and driving oil pump gear (3)

Disassemble

Remove driven oil pump gear (2) from oil pump housing (4)

Insery drift (8) through the bearing bore on the removed driven oil pump gear (2) into the oil pump housing (4) and place drive gear (5) in place

Place a suitable block (7) on the other side of the drive gear (5)

 The block (7) must be around 6 mm shorter than the drift (8), otherwise the drive gear (5) may be damaged.

 Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by handling hot or glowing objects.

Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.

Press out the driving oil pump gear (3) from the drive gear (5) using a fitting pressing-out drift (6)

 Heat up the drive gear (5) if necessary.

Pay attention to the direction of removal (arrow) for the driving oil pump gear (3).



Check driven oil pump gear(2), driving oil pump gear(3), inside area of the oil pump housing (4) and cover (1) for wear

 Replace oil pump if necessary.



Assemble

Clean the oil pump parts with a lint-free rag

Insert driving oil pump gear (3) into the oil pump housing (4)

Press the drive gear (5) onto the axle shaft for the driving oil pump gear(3) until the setback of the drive gear (5) to the axle shaft (A) is achieved

 Measure setback of the drive gear (5) to the axle shaft (A) with a depth gauge (9).

Measure gear backlash of driven oil pump gear (2) and driving oil pump gear (3)



Checking

Check whether the driven oil pump gear (2) and the driving oil pump gear (3) can be turned by turning the drive gear (5)



Install
