 Warning

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove/install

Drain off coolant

Remove ground line from battery

Remove fan

Remove poly-V belt

Remove coolant hose (1) from coolant pipe (2)

 To do this, release clamp (3).

 Hose clamp pliers

Remove electrical line (4) at bracket (8)

 Remove screw/bolt (5) to do this.

Remove electrical line (6) at bracket (8)

 Remove bolt (7) to do this.

Remove retaining clip (9) at bracket (10)

 Installation: Check retaining clip (9) for damage.

Depending on findings



Replace retaining clip (9)

Remove retaining clip (11) at bracket (10)

 Installation: Check retaining clip (11) for damage.

Depending on findings

Replace retaining clip (11)

Remove electrical wiring harness (12), and lay out of working area

 To do this, open bracket (13).

 Installation: Check bracket (13) for damage.

Depending on findings



Replace bracket (13)

Remove screw/bolt (14)

 To do this, release screw/bolt (15).

Disconnect electrical connector (16)

Remove electrical line (17) at alternator (21)

 To do so, unscrew nut (18).

 Nut, electrical line to alternator

Remove screw (19)

 Lower screw/bolt, alternator to major assembly carrier

Remove alternator (21)

 To do this, remove screw/bolt (20).

 Upper screw/bolt, alternator to major assembly carrier

Install in the reverse order

 Headless screws/bolts: screws/bolts and nuts, coarse-pitch thread
