Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Ensure that no one is within the tilting range of the cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt the cab all the way to the end position and secure with the safety strut.

Remove/install

Tilt cab

 Installation: Only tilt back cab after the leak test.

Remove soundproofing

Open cover on expansion reservoir

Remove fender liner on the right

Disconnect electrical connection (5)

Clamp off coolant lines (3, 4)

Disconnect coolant lines (3, 4) at AdBlue® heater coolant solenoid valve (Y627)

 Collect coolant which flows out.

Press bracket (2) to one side

Remove AdBlue® heater coolant solenoid valve (Y627)

 Bolt, solenoid valve for heating element on AdBlue® container to timing case

Install in the reverse order

Check coolant level and adjust to correct level, if necessary

Start engine and perform an engine test run

 Allow engine to run at a higher rotational speed.

Check cooling system for leaktightness

 Visual inspection.
