Danger! | Risk of burns and scalding while working on AdBlue pipes and on components connected to them. Risk of injuries on skin and eyes from contact with AdBlue. Risk of poisoning from swallowing AdBlue | Only catch AdBlue in appropriate containers. Only start working on the exhaust gas aftertreatment system after relieving the pressure.
| Indications for applications, material properties and handling AdBlue | ||
1 | Switch-off the ignition
2 | Connect the STAR DIAGNOSIS
Danger! | Risk of injury from pinching and crushing when tilting the cab | During back and forth cab tilting, stay away from tilting area and take preventive measures to avoid non-authorized people from entering tilting area. Always incline the cab to its final position and lock it with the safety device.
| Indications on cab tilting | ||
3 | Tilt the cab. | Only on vehicles needing cab tilting
4 | Install the test connection (4) in the pressure inlet of the metering unit (1) | Only if a testing connection (4) is not yet installed. The test connection (4) can remain in the vehicle.
5 | Remove the SCR compressed air pressure sensor (B128)
6 | Fill the orifice (6) with water | Fill the hole (6) with water until overflowing.
7 | Install the SCR compressed air pressure sensor (B128)
8 | Connect the rinse hose (3) to the test connection (4) | A measuring hose can be used as rinse hose (3).
Connect the rinse hose (3) only after finishing the flow of the exhaust gas aftertreatment system (about 5 min.).
| |||
9 | Remove the tire valve from the rinse hose (3)
10 | Fill the rinse hose (3) with water until forming a 4 cm water column (A) | Maintain the rinse hose (3) up, so the water flows to the test connection (4).
11 | Install the tire valve on the rinse hose (3)
12 | Connect the compressed air gun (2) to the rinse hose (3)
13 | Rinse the metering unit (1) | To do this, actuate the rinse hose (3) with compressed air until the water is completely eliminated.
The pressure reductor has to be adjusted at maximum to 5.5 bar, as a higher pressure can damage the metering unit (1).
Danger! | Risk of accident due to vehicle unintentional move with the engine running. Risk of injury by crushing and burn by contact during the starting procedure or with the engine running | Assure vehicle against unintentional move. Use tight fitting and closed work clothes. Do not touch heated or running parts.
14 | Start the engine | ||
15 | Check the compressed air pressure in the metering unit (1) with the help of the STAR DIAGNOSIS | Through the STAR DIAGNOSIS it is necessary to consult the current value 69. If the value is not within the tolerance indicated in the STAR DIAGNOSIS, repeat the rinsing procedure. If the value remains outside the tolerance area:
Replace the metering unit (1)
16 | Remove the rinse hose (3) | The test connection (4) can remain in the vehicle.
Danger! | Risk of injury from pinching and crushing when tilting the cab | During back and forth cab tilting, stay away from tilting area and take preventive measures to avoid non-authorized people from entering tilting area. Always incline the cab to its final position and lock it with the safety device.
17 | Return the cab to its drive position | Only on vehicles needing cab tilting
| Indications on cab tilting | ||
18 | Removing the STAR DIAGNOSIS |
