 Warning

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove vacuum reservoir

Swivel fuel filter out of working area

 To do this unfasten fuel hoses from bracket and lift fuel filter. Fuel hoses are not disassembled.

Remove ball head support (5)

Swivel holder (4) out of working area

Pinch off hoses (2, 3)

Remove hoses (2, 3) on exhaust gas recirculation cooler (1)

 Collect coolant which flows out.

Unfasten guide tube (6) for oil dipstick

 Remove screw/bolt (7) to do this.

Remove exhaust gas recirculation cooler (1)

 To do this press guide tube (6) slightly to the side, if necessary.

 Installation: Clean sealing surface, replace seal.

Install in the reverse order

Fill cooling circuit and bleed

Check cooling circuit for leaktightness

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
