1 | Turn the general switch off or disconnect the negative cable | Release the negative cable bolt in the rail, avoid releasing the battery terminals. | |
2 | Remove the outlet manifold (1) with the brake-motor device | For engines equipped with brake-motor installed in the outlet manifold (1). | |
3 | Remove the lock (10) and turn off the ball terminal (11) from the axle control lever (16) | Install: Lubricate the ball terminal with high-temperature resistant grease. | |
4 | Release and remove the self-locking nut (15) from the pivot axle (13), remove from the support (7) the pneumatic cylinder (8), removing the flat washers fro the thrust (12) | Install: Replace the self-locking nut, adjust the pneumatic cylinder length and the rod pretension, thus preventing the vibration caused by the valve, which can cause early wearing in the control parts (axles and bushing). | |

5 | Release and remove the bolts (19) and remove the pneumatic support (8) from the manifold (1) | ||
6 | Mark the position of the control lever (16) in the valve axle (2), release the bolt (17) and remove the lever | Attention: The groove existent in the valve axle should not to be used as a reference to assemble the lever and does not match with the totally open or closed valve position. | |
Install: Completely open the valve (4) (lever supported in the stopper) and assemble the lever (16) in the axle ribbed so that the marks made in the disassembling match, check the inclination </ “G”. Assemble the bolt (17) and lock the lever (16). | |||

7 | Release the self-locking nut (5) and remove the bolt (3) that attaches the valve (4) | Install: Install the valve attachment volt so that its head fits in the oblong hole. | |
Replace the self-locking nut and tighten it securely. | |||
8 | Extract the axle (2) | Hit the pin with a copper hammer or use a press, in order to not damage the ribbed end. | |
Attention: In this operation, the front bushing (B), the thrust ring (c) and the limiter (D) will be displaced. Parts that are part of the axle (A) and are supplies as a single part. | |||
Install: Check the parts that are part of the axle (A) for wearing, if necessary replace them. | |||
- Axle radial play. | |||
- Axle diameter. | |||
- Bushing and housing diameter. | |||
- Use high-temperatures resistant grease in the assembling of the axle and bushing. | |||
9 | Remove the valve (4) | Install: Correctly position the valve so that the existent protrusion is directed to the same direction of the closing and introduce the axle (2) until the indicated axial play is reached. Observe that the valve is centralized in the flange diameter. | |
- Valve axial play (throttle). | |||
Attention: The valve centralization in the flange diameter will be obtained through the axial position of the bushing, that is: the bushing penetration inside the manifold must be equal in both sides. | |||
10 | Extract the rear bushing (6) from the outlet manifold (1) | In order to remove and install the bushing, hit com a proper pin or use a press. | |
Install: Assemble the bushing in the manifold by the actuation side, until its end slightly protrudes (for later adjustment of the valve axial play). | |||
11 | Install in reverse order |
