W09.40-0021-01
Charge pressure curve o.k.
W09.40-0022-01
Charge pressure curve is below the boost pressure tolerance band
Possible causes:
Quantity of fuel or fuel pressure is too low.
Charge air circuit leaky
Inducted air quantity is too low (e.g. air cleaner dirty)
Exhaust back pressure is too high (e.g. engine brake flap not fully opened or closed).
Turbocharger defective
W09.40-0023-01
Charge pressure curve is below boost pressure tolerance band in the lower engine speed range
Remedy:
Clean the nozzle holder combination
Check automotive power on output dynamometer.
In the case of engine 541.9, 542.9 the broken line in the boost pressure tolerance band sheet is only a reference. As a result of the dynamics which exist when driving, the boost pressure level is below the boost pressure tolerance curve. The vehicle does not have to go onto the dynamometer.
W09.40-0024-01
Charge pressure curve is below boost pressure tolerance band in the upper engine speed range (under load)
Possible causes:
Quantity of fuel or fuel pressure is too low.
Charge air circuit leaky.
Inducted air quantity is too low (e.g. air cleaner dirty).
Exhaust back pressure is too high (e.g. engine brake flap not fully opened or closed).
Turbocharger defective
Injection nozzles are coked
W09.40-0025-01
Charge pressure curve is above the boost pressure tolerance band
Remedy:
Check automotive power on output dynamometer.
