Remove/install

1

Disconnect ground line at the on-board electrical system battery

 Do not connect no-load current retention unit.

Remove cylinder head cover trim

Remove air intake box cover on the right

Remove right partition wall section

ENGINE 651 in MODEL 166

Remove intake air duct upstream of air filter housing (7)

Disconnect electrical connection (1)

Unfasten hose clamp (2)

 Installation: Check hose clamp (2) for damage; replace if necessary.

Detach engine air intake duct (3) downstream of air filter housing (7)

Disconnect electrical connections (5)

Disconnect electrical connection (4) and remove on air filter housing (7)

Remove engine wiring harness (6) on CDI control unit (N3/9)

To do this unclip air filter housing (7) at the front upwards from bracket and pull to the front out of the rear bracket (arrow).


Do not bend air filter housing (7) too strongly.
The rear bracket will be damaged otherwise.

 Installation: Check elastomer bearing (8) for damage; replace if necessary.

Install in the reverse order
