Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Fill fuel low-pressure circuit on engine with hand pump

If no repair work was performed on the fuel system high pressure pump and if the fuel low-pressure circuit should not be filled with the filling unit.

The fuel low-pressure circuit must be filled using the filling unit after repairs on the fuel system high pressure pump.
The fuel system high pressure pump will be damaged during starting otherwise.

Fill fuel low-pressure circuit on engine with filling unit

If no repair work was performed on the fuel system high pressure pump and if the fuel low-pressure circuit should not be filled with the hand pump.
