

If a fuel line is opened, it must be completely replaced otherwise leakage can occur



Thoroughly clean area surrounding fuel line to be opened so that no dirt finds its way into the injection system since failure will occur otherwise

Remove air filter housing

Turn engine at the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation to a crank angle of 40° after ignition TDC

Remove fuel lines (pv, rh, z)

 Close off connection fittings on high-pressure pump (19).

Detach hose (1) for crankcase ventilation system at centrifuge cover

Detach oil dipstick guide tube (2) and holder (4) from shield (3)



Remove shield (3) from high-pressure pump (19)



Remove bolts (19a) and pull out high-pressure pump (19) with attached electrical connector (6) from cylinder head and lift

 Only lift high-pressure pump (19) until electrical connector (6) is accessible on the quantity control valve (Y94).

 Installation: The markings (A, B) must be aligned.



Disconnect electrical connector (6) on quantity control valve (Y94) and remove high-pressure pump (19)

 Installation: Replace seal ring (19b) and seal (19c). First loosely screw the fuel lines (pv, rh, z) onto the high pressure pump (19) and then mount the high pressure pump (19) onto the cylinder head, at the same time paying attention to the position from the drive to the counterpart. Turn crankshaft somewhat to the left or right until the high-pressure pump (19) engages.

Install in the reverse order

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Check fuel system for leaks with engine running

Read out fault memory and reset adaptation data



Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory
