Dial indicator holder

 The valve disk (3) must lie on valve seat during measurement.

1	Attach  dial indicator (1) to  dial indicator holder (2).

2	Place  dial indicator (1) on the level face of cylinder head with initial load.

3	Set scale of  dial indicator (1) to "0".

4	Move  dial indicator holder (2) until contact pin of  dial indicator (1) is sitting on valve disk (3). Read off measurement value on the  dial indicator (1).

 If the read off measurement (A) lies outside the permissible tolerance of the valve setback, check the valve seat ring and the valve disk.

5	Attach  dial indicator (1) to  dial indicator holder (4) and place onto top contact surface of cylinder head.

6	 Place dial indicator (1) onto one of the intake valve stem ends (5) with preload.

7	Set scale of  dial indicator (1) to "0".

8	Pull back contact pin of  dial indicator (1) and place  dial indicator (1) onto other intake valve stem end (5). Read off measurement value (C).

 If read-off measurement value (C) is outside the permissible intake valve difference, check valve seat rings and intake valves.
