Removing
1 Place cylinder head on a flat surface and clamp in position.
The nozzle holder combination must be removed.
2 Insert adapter (2) into assembly cartridge guide (1) and tighten.
The adapter fixes the assembly cartridge guide (1) in the nozzle holder combination bore.

3 Place assembly cartridge guide (1) on the cylinder head.
4 Insert sleeve (3) in the assembly cartridge guide (1) and align assembly cartridge guide (1).
5 Tighten down assembly cartridge guide (1) using bolt (4).
6 Loosen cotters by gently tapping with drift punch (5) onto valve spring retainer.

7 Screw latching part (6) into the assembly cartridge guide (1).
8 Insert assembly cartridge (7) into the sleeve (3).

9 Hook thrust fork (8) with attached extension on detent part (6) and lay on assembly sleeve (7).
10 Press thrust fork (8) slightly downwards (arrow B). Simultaneously turn knurled screw (7.1) clockwise (arrow A) until interior split tip of the assembly cartridge (7) noticeable latches between cotters.
11 Push thrust fork (8) downwards all the way.
During this process the cotters are pressed into the assembly cartridge (7) and removed.

12 Carefully move the thrust fork (8) upwards and release tension on valve springs (11).
The assembly cartridge (7) and sleeve (3) are pushed upwards by valve spring (11).
13 Unhook thrust fork (8) on detent part (6) and remove.
14 Remove assembly cartridge (7) with sleeve (3) out of assembly cartridge guide (1).
15 Remove valve spring retainer (10) and valve spring (11) with magnetic pin.
16 Pull knurled nut on assembly cartridge (7) upwards and pull cotters (9) out of assembly cartridge (7).

17 Detach valve stem seal (12) using pliers (13).
18 Perform operation steps 4 to 17 on remaining valve springs and valve stem seals (12) on this cylinder head in the same way.

19 Detach cylinder head.
20 Remove assembly cartridge guide (1) with detent part (6) and sleeve (3).
Only if further work must be performed on cylinder head.
Install
21 Place cylinder head on a flat surface and clamp in position.
22 Insert sleeve (3) in the assembly cartridge guide (1), align assembly cartridge guide (1) at the cylinder head and tighten with bolt (4). Screw in detent part (6).
Only if further work was performed on the cylinder head.

23 Check whether support disc (16) lies in cylinder head otherwise insert support disc (16).
24 Lubricate sleeve (17) with engine oil and push over the valve stem.
25 Push new valve stem seal (12) onto sleeve (17) and push with drift punch (5) onto valve guide (18). Carefully continue to punch with drift punch (5) until valve stem seal (12) is sitting in a planar condition.
26 Remove drift punch (5) and sleeve (17).
27 Check valve stem seal (12) for damage; replace damaged valve stem seal (12) of necessary.

28 Insert valve spring (11) and valve spring retainer (10) into assembly cartridge guide (1).
29 Pull knurled screw on assembly cartridge (7) upwards and insert both cotters (9) between cone points in assembly cartridge (7).
30 Insert sleeve (3) with assembly cartridge (7) in the assembly cartridge guide (1).
The cotters (9) are clipped into assembly cartridge (7).
31 Hook thrust fork (8) with attached extension on the detent part (6) and lay on the assembly sleeve (7).

32 Press thrust fork (8) slightly downwards (arrow C) until valve springs are pressed together slightly and hold thrust fork (8).
33 Pull knurled screw (7.1) upwards (arrow D) and hold. Press thrust fork (8) further all the way.
The cotters fall out of the assembly cartridge (7) between the valve spring retainer and valve stem.
34 Carefully move thrust fork (8) upwards.
Hold the knurled screw (7.1) in the process.
35 Remove thrust fork (8).

36 Remove assembly cartridge (7) with sleeve (3).
37 Check for tight seating of cotters.
38 Perform operation steps 23 to 37 on the remaining valve springs and valve stem seals on this cylinder head in the same way.
Align assembly cartridge guide (1) with sleeve (3) again if necessary.
39 Remove assembly cartridge guide (1) and detent part (6).
40 Detach cylinder head.
