 Caution

Remove the chain tensioner

 Do not attach cable tie.

Loosen bolts (3)

 For this purpose, secure respective camshaft at hexagon with open-end wrench against turning. A helper is required.

Remove both camshaft positioners (5, 6)

 To do so, remove screws/bolts (3) and remove timing chain (4) from camshaft positioners (5, 6).



Install

Mount camshaft positioner (6) onto camshaft

 To do so, install the camshaft positioner (6) together with the timing chain (4) and screw in a new screw/bolt (3). Position timing chain (4) in front of the toothing of the camshaft positioner (6). Do not screw in screw/bolt (3) completely yet. It must still be possible to rotate the camshaft positioner (6).

Install camshaft positioner (5) on camshaft

 To do so, mount the camshaft positioner (5) and screw in a new screw/bolt (3). Position timing chain (4) on verge of toothing of camshaft positioner (5). Do not screw in screw/bolt (3) completely yet. It must still be possible to turn camshaft positioner (5).

Place timing chain (4) on the camshaft positioner (6)

 To do so, align color coding (D6) with marking (C6).

Align camshaft positioner (6) with camshaft

 For this purpose, turn camshaft at hexagon until guide pin (B) engages in camshaft positioner (6) and fully screw in screw (3). Do not tighten the screw/bolt (3) yet.

Mount timing chain (4) on camshaft positioner (5)

 To do so, align color coding (D5) with marking (C5).

Align camshaft positioner (5) with camshaft

 For this purpose, turn camshaft at hexagon until guide pin (A) engages in camshaft positioner (5) and fully screw in screw (3). Do not tighten the screw/bolt (3) yet.

Tighten screw/bolts (3)

 For this purpose, secure respective camshaft at hexagon with open-end wrench against turning. A helper is required.
