Remove

Remove timing case cover (6)

Lock chain tensioner (1)

 To do so, place a suitable tool (10) between tensioning rail (2) and piston (3) and press it together. Lock the lever (4) using a suitable pin (9) (dia. approx. 0.5 mm) placed in the bore in the chain tensioner (1).

Fix timing chain (5) in place


To do so, attach cable tie (8) to tensioning rail (2) and timing case cover (6).
Otherwise the timing chain (5) may skip.

Remove the chain tensioner (1)

 To do this, remove bolts (7).



Install

Install chain tensioner (1)

 Screw in screws (7) to do this.

 Screw/bolt, timing chain tensioner to cylinder head

Unlock chain tensioner (1)


The cable tie (8) must not be located between the piston (3) and the tensioning rail (2).
Otherwise the timing chain (5) will not be correctly tensioned.

 To do so, remove pin (9).

Unfix timing chain (5)

 To do so, separate cable tie (8) using a suitable tool.
