Remove

1

Remove rear cap from cylinder head.

Bring camshafts into basic position.

Delimit intake camshaft camshaft positioner (1) and exhaust camshaft camshaft positioner (2) with intake camshaft locking pin (5a) and exhaust camshaft locking pin (5b).

 Assembly tool

Remove intake camshaft control valve (3).

 Socket wrench bit

Remove intake camshaft camshaft positioner (1).



Install

Install intake camshaft camshaft positioner (1).

Tighten intake camshaft control valve (3).



Specified engine oils (service) - Overview

BB00.40-P-0223-02A

 Wet thread and bolt head contact surface of the intake camshaft control valve (3) with engine oil.
Tighten intake camshaft control valve (3) evenly without discontinuity using the specified torque.

Remove the camshaft's fixing device.

Remove intake camshaft locking pin (5a) and exhaust camshaft locking pin (5b).

Turn engine in the direction of engine rotation by two revolutions and set the cylinder 1 piston to ignition TDC.


Turn engine only in the direction of engine rotation.
Engine damage will occur otherwise.

 The TDC marking on the vibration damper must match with marking on crankcase.

Check basic position of camshafts.

Install rear cap on cylinder head.
