Remove chain tensioner (3)

Remove camshaft positioner (4) for intake camshaft

Remove sliding rail bolt (1)

 Installation: The thread of the sliding rail bolt (1) must point outwards.

Remove tensioning rail (2) upwards



Check

6

Check tensioning rail (2) and slide rails (5, 6) for wear, galling and damage

 Installation: Replace damaged tensioning rails (2).

If necessary:



Replace slide rails (5, 6)

Install in the reverse order

 Danger !

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Carry out an engine test run and check engine for leaktightness
