Remove/install

Remove transmission with torque converter

Engine 651 in model 222 with transmission 724.2

Remove crankshaft Hall sensor

Detach coolant line low-temperature circuit from engine charge air duct and place to one side

Remove bolt (1)


Do not use an impact wrench/driver or a similar compressed air tool to unfasten the screw/bolts(1).
The thread in the crankshaft flange will be damaged otherwise.

 Counterhold the crankshaft.

 Bolt, flywheel or two-mass flywheel to crankshaft

Remove flywheel (2)

 if necessary pry off flywheel (2) with  assembly wedge.

 Installation: The cylinder pin (3) specifies the installation position of the flywheel (2).

Check rear radial shaft sealing ring (4)

If damage is present:



Replace rear radial shaft sealing ring (4)

Install in the reverse order

 Flywheel, drive plate, vibration damper, starter ring gear
