Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove

Remove flywheel.

Attach pull-off device (2) as shown.


Do not damage crankshaft and sealing surface on crankcase.
Otherwise leaks will occur.

 To do this push in claws (3) to the end stop in the radial shaft sealing ring (1) and clamp the claws (3) over threaded connection (4).

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (1).

 To do this screw in threaded rod (5). Dispose of radial shaft sealing ring (1).



Check

Check sealing surface of the radial shaft sealing ring (1) on the crankcase for ridging.

Depending on the findings,



Deburr sealing surface with a suitable tool.



Install

5

Install a new radial shaft sealing ring (1).

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
