Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove/install

Remove flywheel/drive plate (1).

Remove crankshaft Hall sensor (B70).

Remove crankshaft pulse ring (2).

Handle crankshaft pulse ring (2) with care.
It may be damaged otherwise.

Remove screws (5a), release crankcase cover (5) with radial shaft sealing ring (6) from crankcase (3), and remove.

Do not pound in any tool between the crankcase cover (5) and the crankcase (3) to pry them apart.
The sealing surfaces can be damaged otherwise.

 Fit tool for prying off onto side notch clearances of the end cover (5). Heat up sealant with a heat gun if necessary.

 Installation: It is essential to observe information concerning applying sealant and the correct installation position of sealing lips of the radial shaft sealing ring (6).

Install in the reverse order.



 Warning

Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area.
