The version of the PEC control module must be reprogrammed in the following cases:
After the control module is replaced or installation of a control module from another vehicle on a trial basis.
After the idle speed control actuator is replaced.
After the battery has been disconnected and connected.
After the control module coupling 1 has been disconnected on the vehicle side.
After the k-factor in the instrument cluster has been re-parameterized.
Programming is carried out with the HHT. After menu item 5 "control module programming" has been selected, the sequence and the instantaneous programming status is displayed in the HHT. After any reprogramming it must be checked whether the vehicle version has been correctly recognized and stored in the control module. This takes place by means of the fields underlined in black.
Note on automatic recognition of mechanical end stop of the closed throttle valve
Recognition takes place after a few seconds with the ignition ON and the accelerator pedal not operated (selector lever in P/N).
The mechanical end stop of the closed throttle valve at idle is recorded by the idle speed control actuator and stored in the control module.
Notes on automatic recognition of vehicle version
The control module recognizes the following versions by means of the assignment of inputs and stores them:
After a few seconds with the ignition ON
TWC/without TWC
When the vehicle is commissioned for the first time v > 10 km/h
Manual/automatic transmission
If the vehicle version is not recognized by the control module the HHT signals this to the control module on initiating communications:
Transmission variant not Remedy:
recognized, drive stage Start engine and
cannot be displayed V-signal > 10 km/h
It must be ensured that the programming has been carried out correctly.
If the vehicle version is still not recognized, proceed as described in electrical system test program, according to the nature of the complaint.
