AD07.52-S-2000-03A | PEC fuel injection and ignition system notes on self-adaptation of mixture formation |
The Lambda control determines the injection time so accurately that the fuel/air ratio is always around Lambda 1 (14.7 kg air corresponds to 1 kg fuel) under all operating conditions.
If faults occur due to:
leak air
wear or coking of fuel injection valves
engine wear
faults in the intake manifold absolute pressure recording
defective diaphragm pressure regulator
defective purging
the control module automatically corrects the mixture formation.
The correction values are calculated continuously and stored permanently.
Self-adaptation is carried out at idle and part-load. The correction towards rich or lean is a max. of 25% in each case. After repair work, i.e. replacing the PEC control module or the idle speed control actuator, the control module is automatically adapted after approx. 10 journeys. The self-adaptation must be reset after the faults mentioned have been eliminated. The memory is reset when the PEC control module is disconnected. After the PEC control module is reconnected, the recognition of the vehicle version as well as recognition of the mechanical end stop of the closed throttle valve must be reactivated.
